Cards for great friends!

I used a Penny Black clear stamp for this Retirement Card for a dear friend who retired.  It was stamped twice and coloured with Copic Markers.  They look so cute!

Second card, is a card I made for a friend's birthday a few days ago.  I used Graphics 45 Ladies Diary paper to make a stand-up card and this paper is one that I just love to use.

Please feel free to browse and I thank you for stopping by!!

Old and New

This year has been quite a ride….grandchildren kept me so busy I almost forgot to craft!
I love being a grandmother, nene (pronounced naynay) which means grandmother in Malay.  My little grand-daughter has shortened the word and calls me nains! Love them.
I also made a whole bunch of new friends but kept in touch with the old and the far away ‘old’ friends who went to school with me.  I met one classmate after 40 years and that was a huge happy moment, especially when I met her family now all living overseas.
New friends who are crafters like me, all in my age group, all know the songs from my era and we laugh so much at dinner that tears run down our eyes with joy!  I thank God for all my friends who have kept me young!! Bless you all.

I wish you all a Merry Little Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Cheers!

Daughters are Angels

I have two birthday cards that I made for my daughters whose birthdays are 5 days apart.
The first card is a purple and cream coloured card with an image from Mo Manning digitals of an oriental girl and this reminds me of my daughter wearing a red outfit just like that when she was two years old!

The second card is for my youngest daughter who likes vintage clothes, bags etc. so this is a cut-out image from the Graphics 45 Ladies Diary collection - this was most appropriate for her. her.  I also stamped a tall birdhouse image inside the card.
Thanks for browsing and wish you a great day!

For a Friend.

I had promised to make a summer wreath for a dear friend and finally finished it a few weeks ago. I had to find blue flowers to complete it and since I do not usually have blue flowers in my stock pile I had a hard time finding the right blue flower.  Anyway, it turned out ok!

Thanks for looking!

Even time does not change friendship!

The first card is a Mo Manning image which I adore and its just too cute for words.  I have coloured the little girl with Copic markers.

The next card is for my friend in Australia who I have just caught up on Facebook after 40 years!  We went to a private ladies only shorthand/typing school and it was a great time in our lives.  We got to be friends when my typewriter banged into her typewriter (do you remember the typewriter??) in the classroom and we laughed our heads off.

The final card is also for another good friend who has been found on Facebook (thank you FB) after 40 years and we talk on skype now too.  She was also in the same typing school and we shared so many good times and girlhood secrets.

I miss my overseas friends and we hope and plan to meet someday, somewhere!  So, until then...one can wish!

Baby Shower Card

I have known my daughter's classmates as if they were my own daughters throughout the years, even if they are adults now and new-moms-to-be.  Its so nice to know that their friendships still last and so I made this precious baby shower card for a friend of my daughter a few months ago.

The image was coloured with copic markers, a metal button with the word 'precious' with a pink pearl in the middle is added at the bottom of the card.
Have a great day!

Birthday card

This is a Magnolia stamp I used for a birthday card for my friend Francine's 50th, saying 'Big News Big News"...it was a surprise craft crop and we had so much fun at our favourite craft shop.

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!  See you soon....

Baby Gift

This is an altered square box I made for my grandson's arrival with a gift inside of a baby carriage in crystal (it was heavy clear glass) with a silver tag with his name and date of birth.  I was unable to engrave the information right on the glass due to its fragility.  The top of the box was in light blue with cream resin corners and the picture of the baby enclosed in a round resin frame with a blue dotted bow.

The sides were covered with white silk lace and the Spellbinders medallions on the sides of the box had tiny embellishments of baby items, adding pearls as an extra touch.  Its a little treasure to keep.

Babies are so precious.....love them so much!
Thanks for the visit.

Happy New Year 2012!

Another year gone, but the memories are cherished forever, we move forward to a beautiful year with grandchildren in our midst and they bring us so much joy, each and every day, not just one happy day, but always.  We are truly blessed.

Today, also marks my mom's passing away overseas, I remember the day we got the message in the early hours of January 1st and it still brings pain to know that I will no longer be calling her on the phone.  But I know she is always with us.

Hope to do more crafting, with so many ideas dancing in my head.  Thank you for dropping by!

An early gift this season, a Grandson!!

Its been so exciting for the past few weeks on the arrival of our little grandson, he is so adorable and fast asleep.  Babies always smell so soft and heavenly.  So, actually I don't really need anything this Christmas but to hold him soon and spend time with my grand-daughter, who is crazy about Elmo, and read those books on Elmo a million times!!  I don't have time for my crafting, hahaha!

All these past years, we only had one family here with us, my children missed out on grandparents being here with them during their childhood days and now, We are here for their children.  This is the most important thing for me to have the family together and now through technology, we see them quite often.

Bless my family and all my friends who I cherish every day, not just one day but always.

Daughters are Precious

My two daughters have their birthdays five days apart...and it always brings back memories when they were little.  To save the stress of having two birthday parties, I used to combine the two and have one on the weekend.  I enjoyed having to put together the loot bags and decorations (no dollar stores then) and order or make cake(s) and the matter of who should be invited was another story.  Cos they would have invited the whole school!!

In celebrating their birthdays, I made this card for my 'first born' as she would like to be called! She loves purple, so the card is made up of designer paper/white embossed cardstock, Martha Stewart border punch, Stampin Up bird punch and circle stamp, cut out butterflies and birdcage, purple ribbon and tiny silk flowers and a big brad.

The second card was made for my youngest daughter who loves anything vintage and the shabby chic look. So, this card is made with designer paper in brown with red cardstock and a Prima flower and tiny brown silk flowers. Stampin Up happy birthday wishes, red silk ribbon.  This is an easel card as you can see in the second picture below.
Love to read your comments!

Celebrations!

I made this card for Mo Manning's blog celebrating her 100th image and wanted to participate in their challenge but time did not permit me to complete my card.  So, I decided to put it on Facebook and it came out fine.
Its a 5x7 card in white cardstock and matted with a turquoise piece of cardstock.  I cut out a Spellbinders Frame in light blue and attached a printed vellum paper for the back of the frame (sort of a lacey curtain effect),  The border is cut with a Stampin Up scallop border, bling is attached on one side with some Magenta peel offs in silver added to the two corners.  The image is of Mummu dancing - rejoicing and celebrating!
I have coloured the image with Copic markers.

Hope you enjoy this card as we celebrate 100 images from Mo.,  Thanks Mo!!

Anniversary Greetings

For my beautiful sister and her husband's wedding anniversary (I was their bridesmaid many many moons ago), I created this card using dark green cardstock with a window frame from Spellbinders in white.  I have also used two birds and leaves cut out of SU punch, the birds are cut out of a softer shade of green glitter cardstock.  A medallion cut out with a floral print was glued in the middle of the frame, tiny silver bling was glued as the eye of the bird.

I wish them both the happiest of anniversaries and bless them with good health, now and always.

A card forgotten

I had made this card a while ago and did not remember it until my son-in-law emailed the picture a few days ago (Thanks Mark!).  Sometimes I make cards for my family and, of course, its a last minute requirement!  Luckily, I have cards already made but sometimes they need a specific style or colour - so, here I am, personalizing the card with a special person in mind.  I just adore the ribbon used here with the tiny pearls (yes, pearls are my best friend!).

Thats why, most or all of my cards are 'one of a kind' - I never use a sketch - its all in my head!  Sometimes I drft into space figuring out the colours or visualize a card to make!!  Its daydreaming in colour.

My grand-daughter loves to dance!

She is just so adorable dancing to the music of 'Hey Lets twist again' by Chubby Checker at 7am on a weekend at our house, of course, the song went on and on.  When I look at her, I see my own daughter who loved to dance to the music of Michael Jackson at that time.  So, I guess it runs in the family!

I am blessed with a little angel.

Happy Anniversary!

This is a beautiful card made for my daughter and her husband's wedding anniversary.

I tried out a new medium that is so quick but very elegant, it is a 3-D decoupaged image of a cutie couple.  I used martha stewart punches and Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background on dark brown cardstock, and a rose pink bow and pearls.

Please leave a comment if it made you smile.  Thank you.

Friends Forever

My oldest and dearest friend Sylvia lives far away from me and I have not seen her in many years but we have kept in touch through all these years and this month she underwent surgery and I was thinking of her all that time.  The good news is that she is fine and already driving her car!  She was always a strong woman and I hope she recovers her strength soon. This was a 'get well card' I made for her.

Also, she and her husband just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and thats an achievement which is quite rare these days. The card was made with embossed dots on cream cardstock and a resin ornate frame enclosing the words "Best Wishes", using cream satin ribbon and pearls.  I have also added gold filigree photo corners and the number 50 in gold to give it an elegant look.  I wish them all happiness and much love, always!

What are friends for?

Happy Birthday! to a friend who brings laughter to a higher level of entertainment!
